Let's Begin

Hello loves,

So today is the day that I start getting back on the wagon for the billionth time. I woke up later then planned this morning. My medication for my fibromyalgia knocked me out and made it harder for me to wake up so I will be doing my yoga once the kids are asleep. I am really looking forward to get back into yoga, it really helped me with my pain. Yoga is something I recommend for everyone because there is so many benefits.

Here are a few that I found out for myself while practising:

  • Increases flexibility: By increasing your Range of motion you also help bring fluids and nutrients to your joints which helps keep them healthier ( this one is a big on for me not only did yoga help me become more flexible but it relieved some of my arthritis pain.)
  • Relieves tension ( emotional and physical)
  • Helps develop strength
  • Helps improve patience
There are many other good affects of yoga here are a few more just to name a few.
  • It helps with posture: Yoga helps improve your posture which also tends to eliminate so neck , shoulder and back pain.
  • Strengthens bone: Because yoga often requires you to support your own body weight in many ways it helps your bones get stronger.
  • Helps lower blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.
  • Improves concentration , memory, coordination.
I love yoga because it has really helped me with my pain disorder and my rheumatoid arthritis. I found I was more relaxed and happier. I became more patient and didn't get impatient with my children when they did things I didn't want them to do. The yoga videos I use are on youtube it is yoga with adrienne . I really like this teacher, her style may not be right for you but there is plenty of yoga teachers out there on youtube to try.

I am also looking forward to all the other types of exercise that I am planning on doing such as strength training with weights and running.

In other news. The hubby is doing good it is his last morning shift today and I am so happy for that. I can't wait to be able to have breakfast with him and the kids in the morning again.  The boys are also doing good,  still haven't found a daycare that can take both boys in yet so I may just have to put them in two separate daycares if it keeps up this. We are trying to get JM my oldest out of talking in a squeaky voice. Although most people think it is cute and adorable,it does get annoying and I am worried that if he keeps it up when he is older that he will get picked on. It is going easier than I thought even though he is still pretty squeaky.

Henry got his 1 year vaccines of course he didn't like but then again who likes getting jabbed in the arms with a needle ( with the exception of tattoos). He is now 32" long and weighs 25 lbs. He is trying to build the courage to climb which I can still do without. I forgot how fast a little man like him can crawl what will I do once he starts climbing.  He is also trying to repeat words after us which is fun. I love seeing both of my children grow up. I get to explore the world through their eyes and that my friends can be a wonderful thing.

That is all for to today folks,

Patricia

Tackle Grab April 2014 Review

What is tackle grab?
Tackle Grab is a monthly subscription box that sends you a minimum of 16$ worth of fish baits.

Shipping: Shipping to the US and Canada is free.

Referral : There is a referral program. Refer three friends and you get 3 boxes free. If you are interested in tackle grab please contact me at canadiansubbox@gmail.com and I will send you a referral.

Pricing: There is a limited time offer that your first box can be free on month-to-month subscription but I am not sure how much those are as there is a big "sticker" over the sign but I am thinking it is around 12.00$

Let's start with the packaging. It is as minimal as they get. You get a small box with no stuffing just the products inside.
The box unfolds therefore even if the products are put in there meticulously they do move a apart when you open it. I would of liked to see a bit of protection packaging in the box. I know it isn't really needed I would like to see it just to make me feel satisfied that all my items will arrive safely.
The product card. I like this card it shows a picture of the item, the price, a short description of the product and how to use it. I like that there is a fair amount of details on this card. It is good for beginners to learn how to use the bait .

AR Lures Pencil-90 ( retail value 19.99$)
I like this lure. I like it because it was hand crafted and also because it came with a FB card that allows me to look even further into the company and what they and their baits are all about. I do wish that it would have had cover of some sort on the hooks as trying to get it out of the bag was a bit hard. Word of caution large mouth bass that choose to nibble on this bait might destroy this lure as it is wooden.

Product Description
1/2 oz. and 3.6 inches long
100% handcrafted and features a top quality wooded construction ( I always love hand made things)
Very responsive; walks across the surface like an injured bait fish.

Good for smaller fish ( small mouthed bass)

Advantage Bait Company Swim Jig ( Retail 4.70$)
I love the colour of this jig. I also like that this was hand-painted, and the eye make the jig look real.
The packaging for this one was fine since the strands cover the hook it offers protection from being jabbed.  The colour of this jig is also quiet realistic and should work well.

Product Description
-Hand painted realistic shad head with life like 3D eyes
-Built-in soft plastic trailer keeper
-90 Strand 100% silicone hubbed skirt with built-in necktie trailer
-Flexible weed guard

Good for fishing bass and other fish in dense weeded areas

FishBelly Popper Shad (retail 7,95$)
I like how realistic these look. If you are someone that has problem with jelly textures items this feels like it ( although I doubt you would since you're fishing)

Product Description
Soft body and ultra realistic paint job
Cuppoed mouth for popping action
Tail creates disturbance on water to draw more attention

HotSEATCUSTOMBAITS Hot seat skink (retail 1.20$)

This kind of bait is great for catching bass that are spawning. If you are fishing near rivers where bass have there "nest" this is perfect to catch them. Again this kind of lures are a bit jelly feeling.

Product Details
Classic Lizard design
Durable plastic with just the right amount of salt
Available in 28 colours

Good for spawning Bass

Thoughts
I haven't been fishing in a while but hopefully having this box will get me out there ( or at least have the boyfriend use these when he goes fishing). As for the quality of the items I think that they are quiet good. The price is also good. I paid 34$ for this subscription ( I had 20% off, regular subscription for 3 months is 42$) and I got approximately 25-30$ worth of lures. My profile was mostly bass so I don't mind having received products that catch bass. The boxes are somewhat customizable ( you fill out a profile). My profile was set for beginner as well. I have selected all style of fishing and all the fishes available for the next box and put on intermediate to see if they will send a greater variety of products.

Do you fish? What is your favourite bait?

Tackle Grab May 2014 Review

Each box comes with a product card that tells you the company, price, details and techniques to use with each bait.

River2Sea Biggie Poppa Retails for 8.91$
I like the color of the bait that I got. There is 10 different color patterns that come with this bait. They also have two different lures the  Bumpin' and Creepin' . I got the Poppa Bumpin' which is a fast floater. That means it is heavier and it vibrates.
Secret Lures MVPFinesse Jig Retail 3.59$

Fishbelly Bushido Shad Retail 3.95$ ( 3 Pack)
I like how lifelike the color on these baits are. They also have a really curly tail which helps it with vibrations.

Z-Man LizardZ Retail 5.49$ (6 pack)
This bait is made from the Z-man ElaZtech. ElaZtech what is it?

Thoughts
I have one more month on this subscription and although it is great to receive new bait every month but I am not going to re-subscribe. I don't fish often enough to hold a large collection of fish baits. I do think this would be a great though for people who have avid fishers in their life.

BodyMorphia June 2014 Review

What is Bodymorphia?
This monthly subscription is the gift that keeps on giving because it keeps hooking you up with awesome health and fitness products!
Every month, a top-notch subscription containing 5 to 6 full-sizes and deluxe samples will show up in your mailbox bursting with nutritional supplements, vitamins and health solutions from the brands you love, the ones you’d love to try and the stuff you didn’t even know you wanted yet! ( Taken from site)
How much does it cost?
20.00$ a month ( which includes shipping) only ships to Canadians at the moment.
Referrals and/or points?
There is no referral program or points program  at the moment but hopefully they will have some for their loyal customers.
This month was the official Bodymorphia bag launch and I have to say my first impressions before even reading up on the products was great. I really think this box can go far if their bags keep being this good. The price of the bag is 20$ a month and the value of this bag was 60$

Each "box" is actually a reusable bag. This makes me think of the make-up subscription Ipsy. I love the ideal that these are bigger bags because it makes them more versatile and useful ( or at least I think so)
I also really liked this little extra LaUNCH bag. It isn't really big but I think it is a great snack bag. For those of you who are like me and that need to have several healthy snacks with you wherever you go this is great to have. It fits nicely in the bag it was in this month and other large totes. It can also protect all the other goods that can get ruined by an accidental leaking snack or drink and this lunch box is perfect to keep the mess in.
Muscle MLK Powder
Muscle MLK is a protein enhanced beverage that features a blend of premium proteins, functional fats and good carbohydrates. Just mix 2 scoops (70g) with 325 mL of water to make a delicious shake. You can also add Muscle MLK powder to pancakes, smoothies or other recipes to increase the protein content (see below). Muscle MLK powder provides a delicious way to help fuel your workout.
Uses: Pre-workout, post-workout or as a protein-rich snack  ( taken from Muscle MLK site)
Retails for 43.84$ for 2.48 lbs container ( full-sized)
I was really happy when I saw this in my bag. If you are like me and fairly new to training ( weight train 3x a week and jog 3x a week) since March you don't really know what to get when it comes to protein. I have been wanting to buy protein powder but I live in a small community and the choices when it comes to protein powders are very limited and they only come in full-sizes. Again if you are like me spending 40$ + on something that I don't know I will like. That's why I am happy that this was in my bag. I didn't have to spend the money ( and If I had paid for the bag it would've been half of what I would have to pay here) and I know get to try a product that I was too afraid to buy.
I did try this product in fact it was the first thing I tried. I really like the flavour of this product ( I had vanilla). Unfortunately I caught a stomach bug the same night ( no it wasn't the shake, there is a stomach-flu going through this town) so I couldn't tell if this product helped or will but I will keep trying it.
2 month of premium membership for Fit Radio 5.98$ ( 2.99$ a month)
A radio station made for athletes. I love that most of the stations have upbeat songs that definitely help me get through a workout.

TracHealth Chia Drink
For your next workout, reach for TRAChealth’s hydrating all natural Chia + Coconut Water drink instead of an artificially flavored sports drink. We combined the powerful superfoods of chia seeds and coconuts into one convenient portable drink that’s packed with plant based nutrition and beneficial for everyone especially athletes. Just add water, mix and enjoy. ( taken from TracHealth website)

Retail 2.08$ ( 24.99$ for 12)

When I saw this in my bag I was really excited to see this. I bought chia seeds awhile back and used them in one recipe I have been a little weary of using them and this got my hopes up. I am also not a big fan of coconut water ( lord knows I tried) so I thought hey maybe the mixing of these two products will make an excellent mixture. This is the third thing in the bag that I have used ( after the protein shake and the radio). This was a fail for me. You mix the packet with 10-12oz of water and drink. I didn't like the taste of this it was basically coconut water powder and I don't like coconut water. Another reason that I didn't like this is, the chia seeds just got caught in my teeth and getting a bunch of seeds stuck in my teeth really isn't my thing. Also if you aren't familiar with chia seeds they absorb the water and turn into a gel ( great to use to replace eggs) and I am not to sure how I like the feeling of that consistency in my mouth. Now I can't put the product completely down because the company does have different flavours and although I'm not fond of the seeds in my teeth and the consistency of gel but maybe if I had tried a different flavour I could maybe be more inclined to like this product. If I ever do see trial packets at a store I will make sure to buy them and try them.

CytoSport Energy Drops
are designed to deliver energy in a fast and efficient manner. The Advanced Carbohydrate System (ACS), which incorporates multiple fuel-energy sources including our proprietary, acid-buffering alpha-L-Polylactate. takes advantage of your body's natural ability to transport and deliver different carbohydrate sources through multiple unique pathways. This carbohydrate blend provides fast, intermediate and prolonged energy - as well as vital electrolytes helping athletes perform at high levels. (Taken from their website)

Retails for 2.17$ ( 34.77$ for 16 pouches)

I am not sure what to think about this product but I will be trying them sometime in the future. I am currently training for a 5k but I am hoping to be at a 10k by the end of summer. I will probably by using these drops during one of my training. These come in two different flavours I received the orange+tangerine flavour ( contains 50mg's of caffeine per pouch) the other flavour tropical fruit+ Pomegranate flavour does not contain caffeine.
HemaVol
iFORCE Nutrition has done it again! Introducing the world’s first plasma volumizer, HEMAVOL! Hemavol was specifically engineered to generate skin splitting muscle pumps and myofibrallar plasma volumization.
With Hemavol’s revolutionary hemodynamic technology, your workouts will NEVER be the same! A new generation of plasma volumizers has emerged and Hemavol is the ONLY choice for those who are sick of inferior so called “Nitric Oxide” products packed with useless sugars, caffeine and Arginine. Hemavol uses only ingredients backed by science. It’s time to get one step ahead of the competition, it’s time for Hemavol! ( taken from their site
I am really not sure how I feel about this product. I am intrigued by it but until I see more information not written by the people who are trying to sell it ( please if you have any information from a second source please send it to me) I am not sure if I am going to try it.  I did receive three flavours ( Cherry limeade, Tangy Tangerine and Fruit Punch).

Thoughts
I really like this box. Yes, I may not like all the products and try all of them but I really like this box. I got to discover products that are new and not so new to me and I think that it is great. I think this box is good for all types of athletes beginner or Advanced. They also have a blog themselves on bodymorphia.com I do wish they had less WTF in their titles just because it makes me think if my three year old could write thats what it would look like. Not the WTF part but the constant repetition of it in the titles but besides that I like the blog and I hope they continue with it.
I also like that they show a picture of the bag of the month and I hope that they continue to do this. I think that this might entice more customers by seeing the products that they are/or might be getting.
What they can improve or add.
I really hope that they add product cards with the next boxes. I think a card explaining the product a little more and that details the price of the items would be really good. It would help consumers see the value of the bag and help them decide if the products are for them.
I would also like to see a possible on-line store.  Although all of these products can be found on-line it would be great to have them straight from the source that introduced them to us.
I would also like to see a points of referral program for loyal customers.
I also think it would be great if they had multiple months subscription.
Besides that I think that this box has great potential and if they continue on this track and tweek a few things mentioned above that they will go far in their endeavour.
I will be continuing to follow this box and when my budget allows ( as I am reviewing a few other boxes at the moment) I will most likely purchase a few more bags.

Busy week

Hello friends,

I have a busy week coming up. Yesterday I stopped by an old friends house since she is moving away and I left with a bag a clothes. Most of the shirts fit me but all the pants were too big. It  was nice of her to givce me her clothes and I appreciate it especially since all my shirts are getting too big on me since I've lost 15lbs.

I am supposed to go out for coffee with a friend later on today if she remembers, I'll have to contact her after I post this blog.

My sister is also up from Ottawa with her two beautiful boys. They had fun at our splash park ( water park for kids no slides just a bunch of spraying toys) while I was at work and I spent a bit of time with them last night. I will be going over to my mom's again maybe tonight and definitely Tuesday as long as I don't get called in to work.  We are celebrating my dad's birthday on Tuesday so let's hope I don't get called in. I also picked up another girls shift this week on Wednesday as long as it gets approved by the boss.

I also have to go visit the home of the woman who will be watching my kids for the month of August ( hopefully I can find another daycare by September).

I am also still working on knitting. I tried arm knitting for the first time the other day with the t-shirt yarn I bought and I really enjoyed it ( will be posting pictures eventually). I also want to try finger knitting which is the same concept as arm knitting but with your fingers instead. You will notice when I post pictures I make a lot of scarves. I have been knitting on and off for a few years and I started a shawl and socks. I worked on my socks a bit this year and I haven't toush my shawl in three I have it maybe 1/3 of a way done and I got mad and haven't touched it since. I am working on another scarf right now that is triangles that are attached to each other as you go. I am also going to be knitting a grouch hat for my oldest boy for Halloween I don't want to spend 20$ on a costume he will only wear once and for just a walk around the block.  I also want to start a ten stitch blanket  Ravelry ( the artist that did this pattern also has several other ten stitch blankets and scarves to check out). Very Pink has a tutorial on how to do it as well.

I am also continuing to transfer the content from my Canadian subscription blog onto this one. I have the box list transferred and I am going to start working on transferring the reviews over.

That's all for now. It is lunch time and I have some really hungry babes waiting to be fed.

Love,

Me

The products in the box are wrapped nicely and neatly which is always a plus in my book.

All the samples the products that come in the box.

The product card is probably one of the best that I have seen so far. It is well written. I like that it has the logo of the products, a small description and how much full size products cost.

Champion Naturals- Invogarate Workout Sports Drink ( Retail: 2$ a packet/ 39.99$-20 pack)
Support peformance, sustain energy, and promote recovery with this great tasting intra-workout booster. great before, during or after.

I'll probably use this after a workout. I find that I am fine in every aspect of my exercise except for recovery.

2Toms- SportsShield- Anti-Chafe  ( Retail 1.30/ 13$-10 pack
A chafing solution ina convenient to use towellette application. Greatly reduces the friction that causes blisters, chafing and irritation.

I can't wait to try this but not in my runs. I really want tow ear dresses and skirts but my legs chafe all the time and nothing has worked yet but maybe this will.

Then bunch of papers that come in with the box. They all have these there is discount codes on most of them but I don't count these in the retail value like I did the last box because unless I like the product they are of no use to me.

Bonk Breaker- Bonk Bites- Blueberry Oats ( Retails: 1,50$/ 18$-12 bars)
Delicious blueberry flavor. This great tasting energy bar in a compact during your training sessions and long runs size is perfect to enjoy.

GU Energy Gel- Salted Watermelon- NEW FLAVOR ( Retail: 1.45$/ 11.60$- 8 pack)
Voted the official flavor of the Rock 'n' Roll marathon, this gel goes down easy and goes to work fast to keep you moving.

I am not sure about the taste of this but I am willing to give it a try.

Note the following pictures are upside down. I had this issue on my other blog and I don't know why so for that I do apologize.

This is all the products that was in the bottle. The retail value of the bottles and the samples put together is 9$. There was no description about the following products on the description card itself but they did include a separate one inside the bottle.

Cocogo.- Grape and Raspberry Passion Flavours
2 great flavors to try! Coconut water plus real fruit deliver an ideal balance of electrolytes. Great taste, steady energy and no cramps.

Nuun- Lemon Lime and Tri-Berry
Each great flavor delivers a fast0absorbing electrolytes blend with no sugar, and no artificial flavors or color.

Zym Electrolyte tablets- Grape ( NEW FLAVOR)|
Hydration for exercise, training and competition. With 100mg of caffeined and sweetened with all natural Stevia.

Total retail:  Approximately 15$

Thoughts
I have cancelled my stridebox subscription. Unfortunetely this has not been a box worth buying. It may be worth it for the US because you still get at least your money worth but this didn't even hit the 20$ mark that I paid for and the last box was maybe 2-3$ over what I paid. I did like that each box gave you some kind of apparel and that there was a variety of items to try from bars to gels and tablets. I just wish that financially it was worth it.
